
Nubia Peña is a seasoned policy advocate and community organizer with over 20 years of experience advancing justice for underrepresented populations. She recently joined Gilead Sciences, a global biopharmaceutical company, as Director of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement. Prior to this, Ms. Peña served as the inaugural Senior Advisor of Access and Opportunity to Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox and as Director of the Division of Multicultural Affairs. Her leadership has fostered cross-sector collaboration and strategic cultural engagement to address systemic barriers impacting vulnerable communities.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was appointed by Governor Gary R. Herbert to lead Utah’s Multicultural Advisory Committee, a nationally recognized model for culturally responsive crisis response. Ms. Peña also spent a decade supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and violent crimes as a Law Enforcement Victim Advocate.
Her work has been recognized nationally, including her selection as a Presidential Leadership Scholar, where she engaged with former U.S. Presidents, senior officials, and global thought leaders to deepen her impact. Ms. Peña continues to champion inclusive practices that promote access, opportunity, and dignity.
