
Idalia Cruz Garza is a distinguished leader in Mexico’s media and marketing industry. She began her professional career at Procter & Gamble and later built a 30‑year trajectory at Grupo Salinas, where she currently serves as Marketing Director for the Group and Director of Media Strategy for Banco Azteca.
She is President of the Media Research Council (CIM), a role from which she drives the development and professionalization of audience measurement in Mexico. Her leadership extends beyond national borders: she serves on the Board of Directors of the Media Rating Council in New York and is a member of the Board of ESOMAR (European Society for Market Research and Public Opinion), an organization that has also honored her with its Excellence Award.
Her work has been recognized internationally, having been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Switzerland—an honor awarded to leaders who stand out for their global impact and vision. In Mexico, she was included among the 100 Most Powerful Women in Business by Expansión magazine and received the Advertising Leader Award from NEO magazine.
She has a solid academic background: she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from ITAM, pursued studies in Social Psychology at the London School of Economics (LSE), and completed programs in Leadership and Public Policy at Harvard. She complements her training with various diplomas in Stock Market Finance, Senior Management, Political Marketing, and Electoral Marketing, completed at universities within and outside Mexico, the most recent in Argentina in 2024
