Flores-Dominguez

Operations and Outreach Manager at Casa de la Cultura

Aixa Flores-Dominguez is a nonprofit and community outreach professional passionate about uplifting Latino and other minority voices through education, advocacy, and civic engagement. She currently serves as the Operations and Outreach Manager at Casa de la Cultura Omaha, where she oversees cultural programming, economic development initiatives, and major community events, including Omaha’s Cinco de Mayo Festival—Nebraska’s largest cultural celebration attracting over 250,000 attendees annually. Aixa also manages the Viva Business Luncheon, which honors Latino leadership and awards scholarships to Latino students, and oversees Casa’s historic preservation and internship programs that document and advance Latino cultural and economic contributions in Omaha since 1920.
‍
At just 23, Aixa has already co-founded What Youth Can Do, a student-led education policy reform movement in Nebraska, served as a legal interpreter for undocumented New Yorkers, and worked as a Research Fellow at Ballotpedia researching nonpartisan political data on electoral participation in large Latino communities throughout the country. Deeply committed to creating space and opportunity for young Latino professionals, Aixa believes that representation drives progress. Originally from Mexico, Aixa recently obtained her B.A. in Political Science and Religion from Columbia University as a QuestBridge and Golden Door Scholar—two full-ride scholarships that covered her studies at Columbia. Aixa also received the Multicultural Affairs Graduation Cord for her deep commitment to inclusion in academic and professional spaces. Aixa has been highlighted by outlets such as The Omaha Reader, KETV, and BBC Mundo for her advocacy, leadership, and personal experiences as a young Latina. As she prepares to pursue a law degree, she remains dedicated to building pathways for Latino empowerment through inclusive and accessible education, collaboration, and visibility.
